2018 Ford Expedition Safety Rating Makes it a Leader in Safety

When you’re shopping for your family’s newest vehicle from our team at Transwest Ford, it’s likely you want something that’s safe. That’s where the 2018 Ford Expedition comes in. The American automaker recently announced that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded an overall five-star rating — the highest a vehicle can receive — in its New Car Assessment program.

The Expedition is the only vehicle in its segment to earn this high overall score, making it a leader in its segment.

“As a father of four and longtime Expedition owner, safety was a top priority when engineering the entirely new Expedition,” said Andrew Kernahan, Ford Expedition chief program engineer. “We are proud of the many features Expedition offers today that help keep our customers safe on the road.”

2018 Ford Expedition Safety RatingThe Expedition has lost 325 pounds for the new model year by using high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy. This allows the large SUV to have a lower center of gravity, enhancing its stability and driving dynamics.

Along with improving the 2018 model’s body and frame, the 2018 Ford Expedition safety rating was helped by a variety of driver assistance technologies to help give you confidence out on the road. This includes Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, auto high beams, and enhanced active park assist.
